A Simple Roommate Agreement

Last night a new resident was in our office to sign her lease along with her 3 other roommates. A questions her father posed prompted me to write this post.
"What happens when you don't get along with your roommates?"
His question lead us to do a little thinking on the topic. Usually things like rules for guests, shared duties and who will be the one to pay the utility bill are not questions we get involved with. These types of things are usually sorted out either just before or just after people take occupancy of one of our suites, not 4 months in advance. However this parent thought it might be a good idea to get all of these details organized before signing a lease.
Well... its not a bad idea to be prepared. So we did some digging and came across a great roommate agreement template. Have a look, it may be something worth considering asking your roommates to sign before you take occupancy. It's always good to set ground rules before you begin any partnership, roommates are no different.
